Cut Congressional Salaries

Cut Congressional Salaries

One of the last acts of former House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio was to broker a two-year budget deal that prevents Congress from using the power of the purse to stop Obama in 2016.

This bloated deal increased our budget deficit by another $105 billion for 2016, bringing the grand total of our deficit up to $544 billion - a figure that comes from the US budget office, a figure which I do NOT believe.  In reality, the deficit is far higher.

Meanwhile our total national debt for the USA, including unfunded mandates like social security, is about to hit $65 TRILLION, which translates to $800,000 for every American family.

Proverbs 22:7 says that “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender.”

Our out-of-control Congress, which has been all too willing to fund every single thing on Obama’s federal wish list, has placed future generations of Americans in danger of living in a Third World banana republic, instead of the American land of opportunity you and I grew up in.

We are servants and slaves to our lenders in countries like Saudi Arabia and China where our debts are held.

Fortunately, some Members of Congress are now approaching the new House Speaker, Paul Ryan, and demanding that Congress revisit Boehner’s two-year budget deal… and they are demanding some serious spending cuts.

And a freshman Representative from Iowa has an idea that we liked so much that we wanted to tell you about it today and urge you to send FaxGrams to Congress in support of this idea.

Rep. Rod Blum (R-IA) proposed the act to cut congressional pay when the budget is not balanced.

Congressman Rod Blum of Iowa has proposed HR 4476, also known as the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

Here is what the bill does.

If Congress does not balance its budget, right now, every Member of Congress gets a 5% pay cut this year.

And the pay cut increases to 10% a year every year after that.

Congressman Blum says, “It’s time we make our politicians face the reality of our fiscal crisis by hitting them where it counts: their own pocketbook!”

This is the type of measure that will force Congress to go back to the drawing board and rewrite the Boehner betrayal budget, which fully funded Barack Obama’s agenda to bring hundreds of thousands of fighting-aged so-called Syrian refugees to the United States and dump them in your neighborhood!  These are the same men who are raping and pillaging across the countries of Europe.  Obama has brought them here to create chaos and, for him to hopefully be able to declare martial law and then seize total power.

If any business was managed as poorly as the federal government manages our tax dollars, it would have gone out of business long ago.
And because there is no personal consequence to the Senators and Representatives that are wasting our money, they keep kicking the can down the road.

They always pass budgets that increase spending today… with an empty promise of spending cuts that will happen 10 or 15 years down the road – long after they have left office!

We can stop this if enough of us speak out and demand that our Representatives and Senators pass the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

If we can bring this bill to a vote, we can get the politicians on record as to whether they REALLY support balancing the budget, or if it is just another promise that they make on the campaign trail for your vote, which they have no intention of keeping once they get back to Washington.

The bill is in the House Oversight Committee for markup, so we are targeting that committee for FaxGrams. You can also use the form on our landing page to send FaxGrams to the Republican Caucus or to the entire Congress.

Send your FaxGrams today and help us put the politicians on notice that “we the people” have had enough of them throwing our money away!
